Tandem Pump

I bought 1 metre of clear PVC tubing from the local hardware store, where it was far cheaper than online, taking into account postage. The tubing has an inner diameter of 5mm and cost me $0.85.
With my new purchase attached to a pump, I quickly discovered that the single pump might not be enough to push water all the way through the loop. The pump head was nowhere near 1.9 metres, however I was still using the old batteries at only 6 volts (the pump is rated at 12 volts).
Considering that I will only be providing the pump with 5 volts if I power them using the same source as the Pi, I decided that one just wasn't enough. That's right, I'm putting two pumps in series*! I might get a little bit more power from that, and it looks cool as well.
*I've looked online for some Y tubing connectors to connect the pumps in parallel rather than series, and I found some! I might make a new blog post about them later. I'll try both parallel and series to see which yields the best results.
